In my Group Performance class, we very recently had to compile a script of multiple sources with a minimum of three genres...I came up with this monstrosity.

My sources were:
  • Hot Ice by Nora Roberts
  • The Wikipedia entry on Childbirth
  • Hustler's Who's Nailin' Paylin

I'm so proud, but moreso disturbed...Collapse )

Tis the season... [Dec. 20th, 2008|01:37 pm]

[Current Music |Ysaye + Violin = Yum]

I'm feeling a little underwhelmed for this holiday season. I think it's mostly because of the bitter cold outside, to be honest. I can't tell if it's just because winter suddenly sprang up out of nowhere and I'm not used to the cold, but it seems worse than it usually is. The lack of snow is the only way I can tolerate the massive injustice that winter is. =D
Worse though is that we only have internet on the basement computer and it's freezing down here.

I've been managing to avoid being bored so far, which is certainly a big accomplishment but I still feel like a vegetable. THAT'S especially ironic since this is the most unhealthy I've eaten in a long time. It's been one comfort food marathon and I feel icky from all the heavy food. safenthecity is probably laughing at me, so I'll admit that the cheesy fries I had last night were all my fault. Seriously though, I would kill for a spinach salad about now.

Got to make a trip to Dayton to see some of my lovelies and it was fun. I never knew I could eat so much sushi in one sitting, and especially after other food, but I managed to chomp down 11 pieces. Mmmm...so tasty. The sushi was a nice break from the carbohydrate assault I've been living through.

Looking forward to New Year's Eve very much. ^_^

I GOT AN A ON MY SENIOR PROJECT. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh god, if I hadn't slept in until an hour ago, I would have a cerimonial Pass-Out-of-Accomplishment.

Karma is when you rediscover the music of Ysaye, and while he's kicking your ass your A-string unravels.
This is absolutely not acceptable.

It's also sort of comforting that in about 2 months, I should have figured out where I'll be come next fall. I don't like waiting for news like this. X_x

Tonight in orchestra rehearsal, I sat in for the concertmaster.

We're playing Scheherazade.

It was at once insanely frightening and completely amazing.

I'm writing this mainly so I can remember the night I got to play the solos in that piece...and also to procrastinate my paper on Bertolt Brecht and Tony Kushner. =D

Every once in a while, you have a moment that reminds you why you do what you do.

Today, mine was seeing this production of A Midsummer Night's Dream:

I'm totally pumped to open Big River tonight.

Kurt Vonnegut's books have great titles, like Breakfast of Champions and Slaughterhouse Five. If your life was a novel, what would the title be?

I can't even remember what all has happened between now and July for this to be useful, but here's what's going on at this particular moment.

Big River is in full swing, and I'm working on getting the instrumentalists to sound amazing like I know they can. ^_^

Into the Woods is about to start up, and I'm scared that the vocal lines will kick my ass.

Just stopped working at the natural market. It's sad, but riding my bike in the snow later in the month would have been more sad. I spent 16 bucks buying stuff last Friday, since I knew it would be the last day of having my discount. I still have a pomegranate in the fridge. Muahaha.

No love on the horizon, but not too terribly emo about it.

Figuring out what I'm going to do after May. Eep...I'm starting to realize all the things I'll miss, and all the new things I'll be able to do at the same time.

Hoping my the feeling I'm getting about the election isn't just a delusion. My intuition is sparking and I hope it's not malfunctioning.

...I need to spend my Starbuck's gift card ASAP.
